Denver Post Rating: 3½ stars (of 4) "...you have to give it up to those involved and say, "Bravo." Nothing I've seen of late has so affected its audience, and for my money, that makes "Bent" the best play of the year...a performance from Hahn that is so razor-sharp, it could easily be remembered one day as legendary...(Hahn and Norton) embark on epic character arcs. How they come to grips with their humanity, their identities and their destinies is heartbreaking...a thrill to watch." Click here to read the full review The Denver Post |

Rocky Mountain News Rating: A- "(a) production that bests many of the area's so-called 'semi-professional' outlets...Cole and his cast are so sure-footed they consistently hit their marks...it carries the heart where the script wants it to go" Click here to read the full review The Rocky Mountain News |
| Bent by Martin Sherman directed by Jeremy Cole April 3 - May 10, 2003 the LIDA Project Theatre 1280 Stout St. Denver |
| Westword "Jeremy Cole's is a thoughtful, heartfelt production, devastating at moments. William Hahn is as good a Max as I can imagine." Click here to read the full review Westword |
| ColoradoDrama.com "William Hahn, as Max, is the emotional heart of this play, as he grows from a youthful libertine to a mature and nurturing partner. Hahn's painful metamorphosis rocks the theatre. Joseph Norton, as Horst, Max's concentration camp compatriot and spiritual lover, draws an equally poignant arc from hardened prisoner to vulnerable soul mate." Advocate - Life & Arts "Hunger Artists' production takes an outstanding script and pushes it to the fullest height. Bent is an outstanding production with a raw energy and passion that carries its message of self-honesty with surprising lightness when so much seems to indicate oncoming darkness." Weekly "Bent is by far one of the most unabashed, searingly intense and touching dramas I’ve seen... The three male leads, Hahn, Crowder and Norton, each give exceptional performances...Their efforts, combined with a solid supporting cast and evocative yet logical set design, yield a dramatic triumph." Maddox I saw Bent on Saturday night and I just wanted to let you all know how much I enjoyed the performance and what a great job everyone did. It was a very intense and difficult thing for me to get through. I was crying in the theatre and once I was outside, I just broke down and sobbed so heavily. The story and performance are still with me today. You did a great job of pulling me into the story and what was going on. I am trying to get everyone I know to go and see it. I can't see how anyone could be the same afterwards. Thank you again for all your effort and great work. Kendall Maddox |

Susan Perry I have to tell you again how profoundly moved I was by last night's show. Please tell the cast that they were brilliant, especially Bill/Max. I sincerely hope to assist Hunger Artists in the future if this play is any indication of the type of work I would be involved with. Susan
