Joan Staniunas (Director) has been a director, actor, sound
designer and ensemble member with Hunger Artists for two decades.
As a director, she counts The Real Thing, Breaking the Code,
In Perpetuity Throughout the Universe and Tongue of a Bird
as among the most challenging and rewarding and has thoroughly enjoyed
creating and playing Aunt Julia in HA's reader's theatre production
of Joyce's The Dead. For the University of Denver, she
most recently directed Arcadia and Beckett's Play
and is currently an adjunct faculty member of DU's Theatre Dept.
Brian Landis Folkins (Adam) is honored to be a part of
such a talented cast. This is his first show with Hunger Artists
Ensemble and first time performing at the John Hand. Recent roles
have included Wykowski in Biloxi Blues, Marley & Old
Joe in A Christmas Carol, Ben in The Mercy Seat
also by Neil LaBute at New Stage Theatre in Jackson, Mississippi;
MC Dog in Steven Dietz’s Go, Dog. Go! at The Arvada
Center; Frankenstein’s creature (in full prosthetics) in the
world premier of Hoping To See God by Edith Weiss; Jupiter
in Christopher Marlowe’s Dido: Queen of Carthage
in Chicago, Illinois; Tom, Phylis, and Leslie, in A.R. Gurney’s
Sylvia in Big Fork, Minnesota: and Mr. Quimby in Ramona
Quimby at the Mizel Center. Mr. Folkins is currently performing
in Sleeping Beauty, also at the Mizel Center, as The Spider
King. Brian teaches acting and juggling at the Denver Center Theatre

Stacey Nelms (Evelyn)
is a member of Hunger Artists and is excited to be working with
such a great cast! Some previous acting credits include: The Importance
of Being Earnest, Macbeth, Bus Stop, The
Laramie Project, Twelfth
Night, The Shadow Box, An Experiment With an Airpump,
The Mousetrap, and The Kentucky Cycle. Theatre credits also
include directing, scene design/painting, production management,
and PR Photography. This show is dedicated to mom, my hero and to
Roy, we’ll miss you. Thanks to friends, monkey,
and S - I wouldn’t change a thing.
Deni-Marie Warren (Jenny)
is a proud member of Hunger Artists Ensemble Theatre. She is excited
to return to the stage and was most recently seen in HA's
original production of Letters to Home and
Susan Lori-Park's 365 Days/365 Plays.
She would like to thank her friends and family for their support,
and as always, all her love to Mark.
Jack Wefso
(Phillip) This is Jack's first show with
Hunger Artists, and he's thrilled to be joining such a talented
cast and wonderful company! Recent roles in the Denver
area include C.B. in Dog Sees God (Avenue
Theatre), Nick in Over the River and Through the Woods (Backstage Theatre), Mortimer
in Arsenic and Old Lace (Spotlight
Theatre), and Buddy in One Thousand Cranes (Denver Center).
He thanks his friends, family and most importantly his darling Timmi for their support.
